In the context of our capacity-building activities at Acibadem Mehmet Ali Aydinlar University (ACU), we successfully organised a networking meeting with the title "Which Areas Could Research Groups Collaborate on Parkinson's Disease?" The meeting's objective was to identify potential avenues for future collaboration and research opportunities related to Parkinson's disease (PD).
The event was attended by 12 distinguished researchers, including Cristoforo Comi from IMMUPARKNET and University of Piemonte Orientale, Franca Marino from IMMUPARKNET and University of Insubria, Yasemin Gursoy Ozdemir from Koc University and KUTTAM, along with the GEMSTONE team and other researchers from ACU. The primary objective was to facilitate networking among research teams, encouraging the exchange of knowledge and collaboration on PD research.
As a consequence of this constructive meeting, new possibilities for collaboration have been identified. It is noteworthy that some ACU researchers presented their project ideas to the attendees, which prompted interest and discussion. Furthermore, the attendees concurred on the value of maintaining these meetings on a regular basis, with the objective of reinforcing the collaborative efforts already initiated.
It is anticipated that this initiative will give rise to a number of promising research collaborations, which will in turn give rise to a number of innovative projects. This meeting represents a significant advance in the collective pursuit of PD research, facilitated by the pooling of expertise and resources.
