Prof. Onat at ECCN 2025

Prof. Filiz Onat, Primary Principal Investigator of the Horizon Europe-funded GEMSTONE Project, represented Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University (ACU) at the 19th European Congress for Clinical Neurophysiology (ECCN 2025), held in London from 9 to 12 September 2025.

Her participation formed part of GEMSTONE’s networking and international collaboration strategy, aimed at strengthening ACU’s role as a prominent research and innovation actor in neuroscience. By engaging with international stakeholders, Prof. Onat worked to foster new conversations, partnerships, and research opportunities, showcasing GEMSTONE’s innovative contributions to the field.

During the congress, Prof. Onat attended several high-level scientific sessions with direct relevance to GEMSTONE’s research focus, including: SEEG of the motor system – seizure semiology and electrophysiology, high-frequency oscillations and neuromorphic technology in epilepsy – advancing biomarkers from neonates to adults, the epileptic spike across scales – bridging animal, computational, and clinical data.

Prof. Onat also held fruitful discussions with researchers and clinicians from across Europe, laying the foundations for future collaborations in epilepsy and broader neuroscience research. Her active participation at ECCN 2025 highlights GEMSTONE’s commitment to international engagement, underlining ACU’s role as an emerging global player in brain research and innovation.
