
As part of the GEMSTONE Project’s strategic networking activities, Acibadem Mehmet Ali Aydinlar University (ACU) continues to expand its international research partnerships.
On 11 March 2025, GEMSTONE Project Manager Cem Ozturk and Cansu Akın Levi, Business Development and Support Funds Specialist at ACU’s Technology Transfer Office, held an online meeting with Hana Owsiankova, R&D Manager and Deputy Director at the Grant Office of Palacky University in Olomouc (UPol) Faculty of Arts. The meeting focused on fostering future collaborations in Horizon Europe-funded initiatives, particularly within the Health Cluster of Pillar 2.
During the discussion, the participants explored GEMSTONE’s core objectives in capacity building and knowledge transfer, underlining its significant contributions to research management at ACU. They also reflected on a previous joint effort in an ERA Talents proposal and acknowledged the importance of strengthening institutional research support.
The conversation highlighted a mutual interest in identifying funding opportunities within the upcoming Horizon Europe Work Programme. Both parties expressed their commitment to exploring potential joint projects, either as a follow-up to GEMSTONE or through new initiatives. A roadmap will be developed to pinpoint common areas of interest and facilitate further matchmaking efforts.
Additionally, ACU representatives shared updates on GEMSTONE’s ongoing initiatives, including the upcoming Best Practices Booklet and a dissemination event scheduled for June 2025. In response, the UPol representative expressed their enthusiasm to circulate the information within their network, further expanding GEMSTONE’s outreach.
Through these efforts, ACU reinforces its position as a key international player in research and innovation, actively engaging in strategic collaborations to advance scientific excellence and impact in the global research landscape.
