As part of the dissemination activities of the Horizon Europe-funded GEMSTONE Project, Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University (ACU) proudly shared its latest scientific achievements with the wider pharmacology and neuroscience community.
The GEMSTONE Primary Principal Investigator, Prof. Filiz Onat, represented the project at the 28th National and 3rd International Pharmacology Congress, held in Antalya and organised by the Turkish Pharmacological Society.
On Friday, 21 November 2025, Prof. Onat delivered a one-hour invited lecture titled “Translational Approach in Epilepsy: From Neurobiology to the Patient.” During her talk, she provided an in-depth overview of the translational neuroscience framework underlying GEMSTONE and highlighted how the project’s multidisciplinary research efforts contribute to a better understanding of epilepsy mechanisms and to the development of more effective diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
Prof. Onat also introduced the GEMSTONE Project’s vision, activities, and key results, emphasising its role in strengthening research excellence at ACU, fostering international collaboration, and advancing gene engineering and neurodevelopmental research. Her presentation drew significant attention from participants, reflecting the growing interest in integrative approaches to brain disorders within the pharmacology field.

The participation of GEMSTONE in this prominent scientific event marks another step in expanding the project’s visibility, encouraging knowledge exchange, and building new connections within the pharmacology and neuroscience communities.
